Hi all!  This week has been a busy one for me, the semester is in full swing, and all the assignments are rolling in! I was able to meet with Josh today in the lab at PC. What a cool place! It was great to see all resources available and especially to meet such wonderful people! Josh and I discussed the program and expectations as well as set a schedule for research and decided on a research project together!  I am super excited to learn about the world of machine learning and all the capabilities that come with it! I am going to be working on inputting different sounds from my two dogs, as well as other noises, into a teachable machine with the goal of the machine being able to distinguish and interpret between different dogs and why they are making the sounds.  This could be useful in many scenarios, but one that came to mind was when I am out of town, a person caring for my pups would be able to know what they need or want! Can't wait to see how this project develops!

 What an exciting meeting! I just finished an online meeting with Dr. Chapman and my fellow TRAIN Scholars for the upcoming semester. I learned so much about the program and all the amazing support and opportunities available! I look forward to partnering with people who care deeply about the success of others.  Starting an educational journey in the IT field, not knowing much more than the basics, was undoubtedly daunting!  I have completed 2 semesters, with three more to go, and already I feel much more comfortable with the field. I am excited to see how my journey progresses, especially with the support of this program!
