Week 11
This week has been so busy, but full of learning and being part of an amazing cause! I spent sixteen hours in Tempe helping with sorting donations, working on multiple projects for the non-profit, and learning alongside other interns. On Monday, I was tasked with testing donated laptops to determine if they can be reused, need spare parts, or if they were in disrepair but their parts could be harvested. Depending on the condition, I was able to take them apart and harvest parts and build complete laptops to certain specifications for another non-profit that would be receiving them to use. After the laptops had the required hardware, I then had to install and configure Linux Mint operating systems on them. After installing all apps, and completing a system image for backup, I then tested the components to ensure the laptops were fully functional. Tuesday I continued working on refurbishing laptops, but for another project. Thursday I helped with sorting donations and preparing the warehouse for interior painting over the weekend.
